PML Motor Adapters

PML produces a unique interchangeable motor mount adapter called the Kwick-Switch 2000 that uses a threaded coupler that is very durable and reliable. Motors can be friction fit into the adapter, prepped, then screwed in the rocket.

PML also produces friction fit adapters with a built-in thrust ring to prevent the adapter from being pushed through the thrust phase.

Kwik-Switch Motor Mounts:
Kwick Switch Kit - 98/75/54  

With the advent of 98mm motors, many people are building large rockets with 98mm motor mount tubes. Some of these rockets can be successfully flown with 75mm and 54mm motors as well. We have developed a giant, heavy-duty version of our original locking-tab style Kwik-Switch motor mount to allow you to easily and safely change from one motor size to another in a matter of seconds. This mount is available with 98/75/54mm adapters, or with just 98/54mm adapters. Each adapter is also available individually, as is the 98mm Mother Tube system (so you can build it into your rocket and add adapters later).

Kwik-Switch Friction Fit Adapters


Coast Rocketry recommends you purchase the 38mm mount option for all 29mm that offer an optional 38mm motor mount. It is easy to adapt from 38mm - 29mm but not the other way! This offer the flier a much greater range of motors.

PML's adapters are built up of various tubing sizes so it ends up like a double-thickness tube unlike others which are a standard 29mm tube with centering rings to adapt out to the 38mm tube. This high quality construction offers two advantages:

  •  It’s easier to friction- fit ours because you have the entire tube area to work with instead of just the two thin contact spots of the centering rings. 

  • If you happen to have the misfortune of a cato, the super-thick
    tubing of our adapter can help to contain and absorb the explosion, reducing 
    the chance of damaging the rocket.
